Friday April 8, 2016

It is getting closer to summer!!! When school gets out I will be volunteer at storybook all summer. I'm seriously looking forward to that. I want to get closer to the kids that go there. Mrs.Dina is the best person to work under!!!
Today I found out I have a horse show the 23 of April. I'm so exited and I can't wait! I will be competing in 2 catigories, trotting and jumping. I have no idea how it's going to do down though.I'm very nervous.
I talked to my mom the other day and we are actually thinking about getting my own horses. We will be moving for pasture land for the horses. I can't wait for that either. It will probably be like 10 th grade when that happens though.

Happy Easter!

                                                           Happy early Easter!!!!!!

Yesterday we has an Easter party. It was amazing. About 100 people showed up. We put 5,000 eggs out for a hunt, but had to gather them back up when we realized it was about to rain. There were bunnies and 2 day old baby lambs. (ill post pictures later)

They were the cutest things ever!! At the party there where snow cones and there was popcorn. Mrs.Dina ordered about 50 pizzas. 107.3 was there too. When I got home I was on a sugar high. Oh I forgot to mention Mrs. Dina had to leave an hour into the party to take one of the horses to the vet. But I think he is ok.

I do seriously recommend her to all who wants to take lessons because she is really wonderful, she makes anyone feel welcome and even like family. recent struggles and success

                                                                                                                                                 2/19/16
Last week I tried out new chaps. They worked out well. The Chaps are used to help the rider to stay on the horse while trotting or galloping. They are an amazing product. I will post a link for them later in my blog.

Also, we are hosting an event at story book farms Sunday. I am going to be a leader. Our main purpose of this event is to make other autistic children happy while learning about horses. I have done other events before this one. They all were so amazing to experience the great joy that they carry. My favorite event was the Halloween event. I was in charge of the pumpkin walk[It is just like a cake walk except for the fact they are walking for pumpkins]!

I also have had some complications in this as well as successes. As I have a very sweet but sometimes headstrong horse. Getting him to lift his feet as I pick them is a task within its self. Also  he is 22 years old. They live to be 30, so he is very old.

Sometimes the tacking equiptment brakes. That can be considered a complication. Also you have to have the right attire that fits you and the horse. That can cost a lot of money.
Over all I have really enjoyed the start to this project! I will post pictures of the Halloween party in a separate document!

the parts of a horse

                                                                                                                                                       2/12/16

 - To better understand and connect with your horse when you are tacking and riding  you need to know the parts of a horse.
